Our Story....
Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit our page!
My name is Carmen and I wanted to share a little bit about where and why we started. Me and my family love to fish along the Gulf coast and I came from a long line of fishing folks be it on the riverbank, lakeshore, seashore, my kayak and various boats. I've fished on two different continents but no matter where I am, nothing beats a cold drink in one hand and a rod and reel in the other waiting for the big one while hanging out with family or friends telling stories! But I digress.... :)
I love to fish but when it came time to find fishing apparel for myself, it was always a frustrating search. Racks for miles for my husband and boys, and limited shelf space for myself. What was available was a not-so-great fit, too much hot pink for my taste (nothing personal) and too many unisex shapes and styles. In my frustration, I decided to do something about it and so Calypso Trading Company was born.
My goal is to provide quality, comfortable, affordable fishing apparel for the serious fisherwoman with style and color. We are just in the beginning stages of this little start-up so please forgive our early growing pains!
